About Baoloc Silk Group - BSG

Bao Loc Silk Joint Stock Company – Baolocsilk
Baolocsilk, officially Bao Loc Silk Joint Stock Company, evolved from the 2/9 Silk Weaving Company (Sesigatex) – the largest and oldest premium silk textile manufacturer under Vietnam National Sericulture Corporation. Founded in 1994 and privatized in 2006, Baolocsilk is powered by well-trained individuals, many of whom have worked with the company since its early days, and who possess the skilled, sensitive hands typical of the Bảo Lộc highlands.
Baolocsilk’s history is deeply intertwined with the modern rise and fall of Vietnam’s silk industry – a sector influenced not only by equipment and macroeconomic policies, but also by the grace of nature, artisans’ craftsmanship, and cultural and historical factors.
Expert technicians discovered that silk’s surface is delicate and fussy with weaving machines, especially with shuttle speed: a shuttle running too fast pulls the thread too hard, stretching and dulling the fabric. While hand weaving requires masterful skill, it can also lack consistency, reducing silk’s softness and sheen.
Today, Baolocsilk maintains a semi-handcrafted, semi-mechanical weaving process using low-speed shuttle looms. Highly skilled workers operate the machines and are
trained in the art of hiding silk joins to preserve the smooth and lustrous beauty of the fabric—especially because each silkworm filament is only about 1,000 meters long.
As a result, each Baolocsilk fabric piece is a unique, artistic creation, infused with the spirit of the land, its people, and the history of Bảo Lộc silk—from the farmers growing mulberry on fertile soil, to those hatching and raising silkworms until they spin their cocoons, and finally to the skilled artisans who reel, spin, weave, soften, dye, and print the silk using traditional techniques passed down through generations.
Baolocsilk’s products, purely Vietnamese, have reached customers worldwide.
Their silk is made using traditional Japanese and Korean equipment and methods, and offered in various forms: twisted silk yarns, greige fabric, scarves, ties, and colored silk fabrics—over 20 types including Satin, Crepe De Chine (C.D.C), Twill, Jacquard Brocade (J/Q), Organza, Habuta, Georgette (GGT), Kawa, Shantung, Tussah, Taffeta, and more.
Annually, nearly 1,000,000 meters of silk fabric are produced and sold in domestic and international markets.
In response to increasingly sophisticated customer demands, Baolocsilk continues to uphold the core traditional cultural values of silk while investing in production upgrades to elevate the beauty and quality of Vietnamese silk to new heights.
